Phase One 645DF Camera System and New IQ Series Backs
Direct Photographic are pleased to announce the arrival of our newest camera system in conjunction with new Phase One digital backs.
Phase One 645DF Camera System
The Phase One 645DF Camera is fast, responsive and intuitive to use. We feel this will quickly establish itself as the tool of choice for demanding professionals. The camera, while allowing seamless integration with Phase One digital backs and software, also allows the use of Phase One’s new series of lenses and accessories including the option V-Air Grip.
The most popular of these lenses we expect to be our new Schneider Kreuznach Leaf shutter type. These are 55, 80 and 110mm, all of which have truly desirable aperture of f/2.8 for low light shooting and shallow depth of field. With their leaf shutters they are also capable of extremely high flash syncs up to 1/1600th of a sec.
Additional to this in our rental stock will be the wide 28, 35 and 45mm lenses, the 120mm Macro and the new Schneider Kreuznach 120mm f/5.6 TS Aspherical lens that allows Tilt and Shift movement for perspective distortion and correction.
Phase One IQ Series Backs
Phase One have truly established themselves as the industry leader in digital capture for medium format cameras and their new IQ series digital backs have now set the standard higher than ever before. With an outstanding resolution of 80 Megapixels the new IQ180 is the pinnacle of digital capture for rental. This back is able to shoot as low as iso 35 and up to 800 iso while also allowing shutter speeds between 1/10.000th and up to 2 minute exposures. One of the main features of the new IQ series is their exceptional build quality paired with their new high resolution touch screen monitors. For the photographer in extreme conditions the touch screen can be bypassed and you are able to use the traditional buttons, but for quick previewing and zooming into 100% on the fly this function is fantastic.
As well as introducing the flagship backs we also have the new IQ140’s. These have a resolution of 40 megapixels and have the advantage of being able to shoot quicker than the higher resolution models. You are able to shoot at 1.2 frames per second with an IQ140 and the IQ180 needs just over a second per frame. The IQ140 is also a smaller sensor meaning you would use slightly wider lenses to allow for this crop. Both of these backs have the sensor plus technology which allows extended sensitivity and faster shooting speeds, the IQ180 gives a resolution of 20 megapixels in this mode where the IQ140’s give 10 megapixels.
